The season premiere of The Leftovers was on last night and I decided to watch it. It has a weird storyline that appeals to me--2% of the world's population disappears instantly, no one knows why. There is a mysterious group of cult like figures known as the Watchers who smoke cigarettes and stake out certain people. They don't speak. No one knows who they are or what purpose they serve. An intriguing prophecy says that 3 years from the day of the disappearances something will happen. It is the day before all of this in the episode from last night. The main characters are people who have lost loved ones, and the storylines revolve around how they cope with it all as well. Throw in a few flashbacks to leave more unanswered questions, and it has you hooked. You want to see how it will all resolve.
