Right now we are at 42 degrees with light rain.  It wasn't supposed to rain today but they goofed (again).

Saturday they're hedging their bets.  I've seen everything from rain, sleet, freezing rain, snow.

Well, last year by now we had been snowed in ....for over a month. Altogether we had almost 7 feet of snow by the end of the winter.
This year we have been spared...until NOW !!!
We are in a state of emergency... ! It's been snowing all day and according to the news..what we have now is nothing. We will start having 2-4 inces of snow per hour start falling around 10 tonight.with whiteout blizzard conditions ( being the wind)....going into tomorrow night. :41:
All our highways will be closed at 10 pm tonight! You will not be allowed to even go try to drive...or you will be arrested.
Tomorrow...the same thing. Cabin fever!!!! My worst night mare is if we lose power with the weight of the snow on the electrical lines.
They say that we will probably get over 2 feet of snow  -snowplop-
This is the pits!!!!

Bacali where are you?  My daughter is in Philly and she said people were in a "French Toast Frenzy" which means everyone is buying eggs, milk and bread!

I'm about a half hour east of New York City....in NJ.
We are getting between 2-4 inches per hour overnight until tomorrow night.
So we will have between 2-3 FEET of snow. ( not inches)
All the roads, parks ...everything is closed.
Of course with roads, ...but, parks are closed because of the worry about the heavy snow on falling branches.
South of here...so Jersey...Philly.... snow, but not anything near as much as we are going to get. But, people panic. The news makes them feel this way.

It's a mess.
My young little family of Liam , Ava and mom an dad...stranded...at a resort in New York State.
They were only going from Sun-Tues...but, all the highways are closed....banned to ride on.
Thank goodness little Ava can now eat some real people food and is not just on formula. They would have run out.
Winter!!!!  :29:

Whew!! We were  very lucky....we didn't get the 2-3 feet of snow, we got about 7 inches.
Our weather people said that if the storm had gone only 20 miles more west we would have gotten what Long Is and the New England states got. They got the worst.
So, glad... what we had was enough.
But, everything...EVERYTHING was shut down....no one could do much of anything.

Well we may have a tropical storm off the coast very soon.  Strange weather these days indeed.

Nice day here--75 degrees, but looking at 89 on Saturday. But, it's all good when you don't have to worry about frozen pipes!   -Shiver-

Sure is cak, ...we have to get the warmer weather ...and ocean warmer to greet our N.J guests....pretty soon. I'm sure you are counting on down the days.
Just can't take the heat so soon... I have a/c on today.
But, I also put out plants that I took in 'for the winter"....and will start planting my flower boxes.
I don't think we have to worry about frost any longer....( and we did only last week)

we are getting much needed rain.  There has been a long drought here in Oklahoma and the lake by me is 18 feet below normal.  It isn't going to be enough rain to fill the lake but it sure helps! expecting 4 to 5 inches over the next week!

How is everyone doing with the weather?
I see such terrible flooding and tornadoes in the news.
Anyone near any of this? I really hope not..and that you are all safe and sound.

We in N.J. actually skipped Spring, as we usually do ...and headed right from wearing heavy coats...to this humid heat. :49:
And...this year the pollen is terrible!
I guess we are never happy...wasn't it just yesterday that we were complaining about snow?

We've moved basically from three weeks of Spring to full blown July weather.  The humidity of July started today, we have honeysuckle blooming, and -- get this -- big lightining bugs out.

Sadly I am in the flooding areas.  So grateful my home is on higher ground but it is flooding all around us.  We have had over 19 inches of rain in the last 2 weeks. At the start of May the lake by my house (Lake Hefner) was down from a 4 year drought about 60%.  Today it is having to release water.
