It's been awhile since we've had any new topics here, so let's do this one. Do you have a helpful hint to share with us? I'll start.

Just read about this last week, and if you never get through the bagged lettuce mixes before they go bad, you will appreciate it! Just put a paper towel in the bag--it'll absorb the excess moisture and keep your lettuce longer!

Here is a helpful hint if you travel -- I hate when my necklaces get tangled so I put one end of the chain through a straw and hook the clasp. You can then bend the straw to fit into a ziplock with several others and not spend precious time trying to untangle them.

We have very hard water, and get lots of mineral deposits which tend to clog holes in our dishwasher. My friendly appliance man told me to get some citric acid, put it in the dishwasher cups, and wash using the pots and pans cycle at the hottest temperature! It stinks a little, but worth it to get your dishwasher working right again.

  ..what a great idea. Now why couldn't I have thought of this. And, why didn't I think up half the new things I see in stores?
People are making a fortune with new ideas that I thought up years ago.
When my first baby was born and I didn't want to put her down on her back in the bassinet after a feeding for fear she would maybe spit up and choke..stupid me, what did "I" do....I rolled up a CLOTH diaper( I know... no one has them now) or even a receiving blanket and sort of tilted her to the side a bit. My OWN brilliant idea!!!!
Was I surprised years later when  going to BabiesRUs to see that....some brilliant person created a special foam type pillow that all new mothers MUST have. They weren't cheap either. This was put right on the babies side for just this same reason.
And, then the bottle that was too fat for a babies little hand... now we had a hole in the middle of one.... 
I could go on and on.... I'd be a millionaire over and over by now.
If only.............

I learned something new this weekend.  We have 3 bathrooms and ALL THREE BACKED UP THIS WEEKEND!  Ugh the shower and two toilets backed up into the bathtub and the small bathroom got a broken seal so it was flooding!  Did you know (this is the helpful hint) that you can pour 2 cups of rock salt down your toilet and drains every week and it will kill tree roots that contribute to clogged drains!  Way cheaper than a plumber.  (told to us by the not cheap plumber we had to have today)

Making pasta salads today, and I thought this hint would be great to share. If you are boiling pasta, place a wooden spoon over your pan, and it won't boil over!

Here's a good one for you! Especially on these hot summer days. Put deodorant under your boobs to get rid of that awful, icky boob sweat!

One of the coolest baking tips ever! If you need to soften butter quickly but don't want to melt it.... Put boiling hot water in a glass to heat the glass. Dump the water out and flip it over your stick of butter. In a few minutes it will be soft to use!
