A Daughter Leaving Home

A Daughter Leaving Home

Although she is moving out
 She'll never be far away
She'll always live here with me
 In my heart each day

Hopefully I taught her
The right things along the way
To help her make the right decisions

 Each and every day

The most important thing
That she should know
That if things don't work out
She always has a place to go

Though she no longer lives here
This will always be her home
 The warm and kindest place
 Her heart has ever known

A place where the welcome mat
 Is always put out
A place that she can run to
 When she's filled with doubt

It's so very hard to let her go
But I know that I must
I have so much faith in her
 And a world of trust

I know she's smart enough
To make it on her own
 It's hard to admit
My little girl has finally grown

I hope she knows in her heart
 Just how much I care
Because every time she needed me
I always tried to be there

I hope she knows if life gets tough
And she should need a friend
That she can always count on me
 Until the very end

It's never very easy
 Watching someone you love leave
I know that I must be strong
 But silently I'll grieve

Someone who's been around
 Morning, noon and night
 No longer having her here
 Just will not seem right

But she knows I love her
 With all of my heart
 And it's that love
That will never let us part

Did you write this , sovery? It's a lovely poem ..and so true.
Is your daughter moving?
This poem  is true..even with boys leaving home. They are also "your babies" .
Sometimes Sons are more clingy to "Mom " than Daughters.
No matter which.... it's always a bit bittersweet when your child has finally grown enough to be set off into the world.
But, that is our whole job throughout the years... raising them with all our love and values so they can march out the door to face the world ....without us.  :'(

This is beautiful sovery.  It is so touching.  It makes me want to give my youngest daughter a call but she's gone to bed by now.
You wrote a beautiful poem.

So very beautiful and heartfelt. I loved it, and hope she will be close by so that you can see each other often. Makes me miss my daughter, too. And son. :'(

Hi, sovery,
I found this web site for games... it says "custom made" games...you check off the boxes, and they will give you games.
Let me know if this helps you with any ideas.
http://www.partygamecentral.com/cglformstd.phpes.

And, I so understand what you feel. I have been there already.
How far is your daughter going? Hopefully driving distance.
My youngest decided to go to college in Fla, and , as you know, we live in NJ.
It killed me leaving him and flying home ...knowing he was so far away.
But, hey, we all will keep you busy here LOL... and just post us any time, like you have and we will all be here for you...
:29:  Now...doesn't this silly face make you laugh?

You're welcome for the link, sovery...but, I just clicked on this I gave to you and it is not what I had found. I'm sorry I didn't copy the link for myself.
I had found a link where you check off boxes ...pertaining to what you had in mind...ages of people, in or out door party etc.
But, I know if you google "adult party game ideas" ..that there are alot of sites... with lots of different ideas.
Hope this helps.  :victory:
