Duke has figured out a way to neutralize Johnny Football.  Yesterday a group of Duke students secretly filmed an autograph session in which Duke students paid JF for autographs.  The video should be with the NCAA as the Prankster writes this.  Given the NCAA's history of handing out harsh penalties, the Prankster expects JF to miss at least one series.

What happened to my Blue Devils?  They ran into a whirling dervish named Johnny Manziel.  The guy makes Houdini look like a piker.  The most exciting college QB the Prankster has ever seen.  Duke played one near-perfect half and one mediocre half and fell just short.  That said, the Prankster subscribes to Tiger Woods' definition of second place (pre getting whacked with a nine-iron by Elin):  "Second place means you're the first loser."

Assuming he declares, any NFL team that needs a QB and doesn't draft Manziel will kick itself down the road.  The kid is a special player and has the "it" factor.   One yellow light-----his fondness for bacchanalia off of the field has gotten him into some trouble.  He needs to curb it.

It's a bittersweet Husker victory in the Gator Bowl. Glad my Huskers won, but sorry it had to be against Snowbird's Dawgs!

Say Hi to Bao Bao, the newest addition to the National Zoo.  He should be available for public viewing starting in mid to late January.

Snow---simple solution----move Xmas.

The next two weekends are the best in the NFL season.  The Prankster's prognostications for the NFL Playoffs:

Dark Horses:  None (would have been the Steelers but they got jobbed by the refs in the KC-SD game)

NFC Conference Championship----Seattle and SF
AFC Conference Championship----Denver and NE

Super Bowl------Denver and Seattle---Champion----Denver (24-23)

Peyton Manning enters the conversation as a solid candidate for the greatest QB ever.

Anyone else care to take a shot?

The Prankster doesn't like to brag on himself but others should feel free to do so. [Insert superlatives here]!

The Prankster is having serious doubts about his AFC/NFC Championship picks (especially the AFC) but he's sticking with the home teams.  Every football fan should tune in for Denver-NE.  It doesn't get any better than Manning vs. Brady and this might be the last time they face each other w/so much on the line.

Yesterday's games:

AFC---The game was over when Talib got hurt.  Manning was near-perfect, Brady, not so much.  Denver needs to work on getting the ball into the end zone.

NFC--Home field is worth 7 to 10 points for the Seahawks.  Both QBs made some spectacular plays but each has much to learn about being an NFL QB.  Overall, a great, throwback game like they used to play before the NFL became "don't touch" football. 

Super Bowl----The Prankster, on a 6-0 roll, has picked the Broncos.  At this point he likes his pick.
