American Idol Results Show Recap--April 4
« on: April 04, 2013, 10:29:46 PM »
Tonight Ryan tells us that over 25 million votes were cast for our contestants. Casey James and Carrie Underwood are performing tonight.

The Top 7 sing 'Somebody to Love'
The Ford Fiesta mission this week is 'Whoz Your Idol'. The contestants create looks inspired by their own musical idols for a fashion photo shoot.

Jimmy gives his take on each of last night's performances. He says most of them picked the wrong song.

Burnell--got it all wrong, behind the beat, bottom 2
Lazaro--felt like he was at a wedding, cabaret, missed the point of the song
Kree--picked the right song, had a pinched nerve, but has such poise and dignity

Candice, Burnell duet--right song for Burnell, but when Candice came she was so incredible he fell through the trap door

Janelle--competant job, good song but not a great one, in the middle
Lazaro--reasonable job, voice not ready yet, bottom 2 or out

Amber, Kree, Janelle group song--wasn't great, looked like an outake of 'Grease'

Candice--song didn't have the melody she needed to shine, but will be in the top 3
Amber--improving every week, definitely in top 3
Angie--pleased, beautiful, confident, sang magnificently, needs to sing the way she wants to sing

Jimmy's top 3--hard choice but will go with Amber, Angie, and Kree--loves Candice. Lazaro should go

An Idol update on Casey James from Season 9 who is creating a name for himself in Nashville
Casey sings his song 'The Good Life'. He brought each of the contestants a little something from home because he knows how homesick they are.

Judges Top 3 this week:

Keith--Kree, Angie, Amber
Nickie--Angie, Amber, Kree
Randy--Amber, Kree, Angie
Mariah--Kree, Amber, Candice

America's Top 3--Kree, Angie, Lazaro--all are safe

It is always sad when any of them have to go but at least they get some recognition.  So many of the ones who are voted off end up with singing contracts which makes it better.
I would bet on either Kree or Angie winning this year.

mystico---hey dawg, what do you think of this year's judges?   I long for the good ol' days of acerbic Simon and Crazy Paula.  I like the Voice's judges and format better, although those contestants could hardly be called amateurs.

I just have to say this.  I have watched AI faithfully, until this year.  The judges drive me bananas, especially the females.  It got so bad I could no longer watch.  Please bring back Simon and Paula!
