Title: The Baaachelor--Chris Soules
Post by: ponytail on January 06, 2015, 09:53:06 AM
Once again, I have fallen into the Bachelor trap. Our Chris is a handsome young farmer from Iowa, with a golly shucks grin and super nice personality, about as opposite from Juan Pablo as you could get. He was presented 30 girls in 2 waves to select his bride from, and they were the usual assortment of hot prospects, kooks, crazies, devils and outsiders. From the previews of the season it looks as if there will be plenty of drama. We will see how it all unfolds! I may or may not be commenting on this show again!

Yes I fell into the trap of Prince Farming.   :91: There were several that got roses I think should have been removed way before the rose ceremony!  The drunk and the crazy specifically!  I kept waiting for the drunk to fall off the risers and the crazy???  Everyone is an onion!  LOL

And the interview with Claire where she couldn't follow the question -- oh my

I'm glad someone else is watching, too, trouble! We will be able to throw rotten vegetables at them...!

I always get hooked on the show, too, once I see all the new faces...this time all the girls...and I have to see how it plays out.
They sure did it up big on the show last night with the red carpet and all the former couples.
Chris seems like a genuine young man and I hope that these girls realize...he isn't moving.
With some of their careers, I wonder just how they figure they are going to fit into such a rural community and
quiet "farmerette" lifestyle  ???

Well I have to confess I read the spoilers on this show so I already know how it all comes out. I do think he probably made a good choice but I want to watch  and see how she handles herself during the season.

Sarge saw bits and bytes of last night's show.  Two observations:  Jordan should head to alcohol rehab and Ashley S. should adopt the Scarecrow's theme song.

No kidding! And he kept her around...for the time being, anyway!

I agree with Sarge...Ashley S.... is sort of a looney bird. I don't understand why he kept her.
And, I think Tara cleaned up her act after the first night. I did feel so sorry for this poor girl last night.
But, for the life of me...I don't understand how these girls can be so overboard on the bachelor guys when they only know them for a few weeks. -duh-

Since we all know "reality shows" and more staged than they want us to know, do you think the producers make Chris S. keep cray cray people for more drama on the show?

Pretty sure that has to be the reason!

Now that Chris has kept her, hopefully he and Ashley S. will have a one-on-one date on this Monday's show.  The Prankster wonders if Ashley comes with a translator? :c029: :72: :sign0135: -dunno-

She is scary crazy!!

For the first time in years Sarge watched an entire episode of the Bachelor ris(Jan. 19).  He has a few random observations.

Jimmy Kimmel was pretty funny and spiced up the show.

Chris, the kissing bandit, appears to be a handsome, decent guy but Sarge has the impression he is not the sharpest blade in the butcher block.

He is ready at all times to engage in prolonged liplock with anyone other than Chris Harrison.

Most of the women seem to feel the way to Chris' heart is through his lips.  Chris has done nothing to disabuse them of this notion.

Ashley S. barely appeared in this episode but when Chris gave her the rose she had that "nobody's home" look in her eyes.

Jillian appears to confuse her short shorts with a g-string.  C'mon abc, take away the bar.

The "Wedding Crashers" segment was so spontaneous!  (Did Sarge really say that?)

Home and hot tub invasion seem to be the order of the day for these women.

I admire your fortitude Sarge!

The more Chris opens his mouth, the less I like him--he just can't seem to put a sentence together. I wonder if any of the girls have seen any conversational skills from him that we were are not privy to....

And Kelsey...whhaaaatttt? She turned out to be a little strange as well. Hope she is okay. I guess she'll have another 'story'.

It all goes to show that these shows are all about the editing.
Up til tonight she/Kelsey was portrayed as this nice woman with a sad story.
Then.... they show other things and now ...we all think her a little weird.

After viewing chunks of Monday's show, the Prankster has one observation:

The psych ward at Bellevue must be missing a few of its patients.

I feel pretty certain that panic attack was faked.  Kelsey and Ashley I are both so snarky.  I only see two of the girls being able to survive as a farmer wife!  Whitney and Becca -- I am glad Whitney was kind about the girl that wanted to come back.

I'm kind of doubtful about the panic attack, too.
She certainly worked herself up into it pretty fast,or it's editing....but, if it 's phony, this girl deserves to make it to Hollywood. She's a very good actress!! -loll

This comment from Chris Harrison seems to agree she faked it!

LIke I've already said, and from watching these "real" ity shows....they aren't real.
They are scripted ,at time, and sure as heck edited to show what the producers want you to see.

Here's Jimmy Kimmel's breakdown of our Bachelor's way with words. Hysterical!

Rambling---
Well! That was an interesting evening! Our Bachelor was able to get out enough words to send 2 girls home. Neither one will be missed...especially Kelsey.
It seems all the locations this year are in the good ol' USA...I wonder if that was Chris's preference. I love it, since I've been all those places many times!
Anyone else want to see Britt taken down a notch?
Lots of uncomfortable silences this year, isn't there?

Unlike you, ponytail....this is not my neck of the woods so I've never been to these places...and I'm enjoying seeing the beautiful country on these dates.
On the other hand..I'm not too crazy about this bachelor.

So, who do you think he choses?
Title: Re: The Baaachelor--Chris Soules

I don't think he will be happy with whoever it is he chooses--probably Whitney. She said she was willing to give up her career, but I don't think she is prepared for the reality of living in a small town. He told Chris he had no problem with one of the roses (Whitney's I am assuming), it was the second he had difficulties with. Sad to see Kaitlyn go, I really liked her. Becca seems just blaah, but so is Chris, so maybe they are suited for each other.
Jada was probably most suited to small town life of them all.

I don't think either of the last two girls is a good match for him.
Whitney even told him she had worked hard to get this far in her career....so , she thinks she will be happy in the middle of a farm? I don't.
Becca, is a nice girl, but, I don't feel is ready for this kind of commitment.
I really liked Kaityn.
Maybe he doesn't propose at all!

Whomever Chris picks, here's what she faces:   Living in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do and a fiance who has trouble stringing two sentences together.  Once the fiancee moves to Arlington, the Prankster has an over/under of 60 days.

I think you've nailed it, MP. Chris would be better off finding someone close to home. If you can't compromise where you're going to live ( he certainly can't), you better at least find someone that shares common ground with you.

The women tell all---what is there about Kelsey that just grates on your nerves? She says all the right things, seems sincere, yet just rubs you the wrong way. I can't believe she's a counselor...I liked Carly during the show, but her true colors came out. Not such a nice lady...Britt, never would have made it in Arlington...Kaitlyn, I have hopes of her being the next Bachelorette...Ashley, still crazy! But Chris finds her fascinating and wants her on Bachelor Pad. Does anyone ever watch that show?...Jade, still think she would have been the best match for a long lasting relationship :(

I've been gone, sorry this is so late....

Well, it's over and done with....Hope Chris and Whitney can make a go of it. I liked the barn ceremony! But that is because every single bit of where and how Chris lives is exactly the same as my little town here in Nebraska. So familiar, even to the beautiful scenery, although my town is hillier and a about 500 people bigger--woohoo! I could step out my front door and have views exactly like you saw last night! Including the corn husks blowing across the driveway. I wish them all the best.

Two bachelorettes? And they didn't look too happy about it. Of course I will be watching! And Ashley S--Chris really wants her on Bachelor in Paradise (Sorry I called it Bachelor Pad before). Still have never watched that one...anyone else?

So it's goodbye to our Baaachelor--guess I should have called him our mooochelor--seeing as how Jimmy Kimmel gave him a cow last night!

Ashley S is really pretty but I just don't think she is all there for another TV show.  I don't watch that one anyway.  I do hope Chris and Whitney can make it but the odds are not great.

I think two bachelorettes is not a great idea.  What guy is not going to pick Britt. She is gorgeous. Kaitlyn is pretty and has a much better brain but guys won't get that far.  Just my opinion but bad decision ABC

Chris made the smart, safe choice.  The Prankster believes he was more into Becca (guys love a challenge) but he realized it never would have worked.  The Prankster can't put his finger on it, but there is something about Whitney that disturbs him.

trouble, the Prankster agrees with your take on the dueling bachelorettes.  What the producers did was to turn the Bachelorette on its head in an incredibly sexist way.

There is a rumor now that Kaitlyn had a secret boyfriend during the Bachelor, and that she did it for publicity reasons. Wonder how that will fly with the dueling bachelorettes season...hmmm.

I am reading some of those same rumors!!  And Jade is trying to get her cosmetic line on Shark Tank.  Oh and one more rumor I find interesting is that Kelsey is "mortified" over how they used her late husbands death and she is thinking of a law suite or the way HE was depicted
