Moat Cailin
« on: May 31, 2014, 10:39:34 AM »
We haven't been paying too much attention to Theon Greyjoy's story. Why does Ramsey want him to'pretend' to be himself? What is the significance of Moat Cailin? When we last saw Theon, he was thoroughly under the thumb of Ramsey Snow, Lord Bolton's bastard son, who had just asked him to forget he was Reek, and become himself again. This is all in his master plan to help him retake Moat Cailin. Moat Cailin is in a very strategic part of the land called the Neck. Swamps extend from either side to the coasts, and Bolton's forces are trapped to the south. It is the linchpin in the defense of the North--if it falls, Bolton will be able to rampage on through and take the north easily. And who is parked in Moat Cailin? Why the Greyjoys of course.
