A new show on HBO that has just completed it's first season is Perry Mason. I love, love, loved it! I always was a fan of the old black and white tv show with Raymond Burr, and still occasionally watch an episode. This new version has the same characters, but it is very different. It takes place in the 30's, and Perry is a young WW1 vet that is trying to make it as a private investigator. He has PTSD, a drinking problem, money troubles, and anger issues. The whole series revolves around a case involving a kidnapped/murdered baby, and his attempts to uncover the facts of the case and exonerate the mother. Along the way we meet Della Street, Paul Drake, and Hamilton Burger. None of whom is quite what we would expect. If you get HBO, and haven't watched it yet, I would highly recommend it!
