Quite honestly I think all countries should refuse to go. Putting everyone's lives on the line for a medal isn't worth it at the end of the day. This is supposed to be fun and competitive but fearing for the safety of the athletes isn't okay.
Court and Bacali, I understand your sentiments and share them to some degree. Terrorism has been a threat to every Olympic Games held since the horror of Munich. In my view it's inevitable that another Olympics will be struck, it's just a question of when. That said, the IOC should be more sensitive to the geopolitical situation in various venues and should select locations only where the risk of terrorism can be minimized. Putin is a butcher and a thug whose tactics in Chechnya (indiscriminate rape, torture and murder of innocent civilians) fomented much of the terrorist threat we see today. To reward a leader who oppresses his own people and who supports mass murder of civilians in Syria, a repressive regime in Iran, and various and sundry other "bad actors" around the world, makes me nauseous.

I don't agree with the boycott because it will only embolden the terrorists. I'd be glad to expand on my reason but I risk becoming tiresome and pedantic.I just wonder to what degree you don't agree with us, MP, since you said "some" degree. You seem to say what we have.
